Do you mean, why are people asking other people medical questions instead of asking a Doctor?
If so, I think that maybe the reason people do this is because they do not trust their doctors. Which I actually understand. Health care today is really really poor, and considering the high price of medical insurance that is a very sad truth. I've actually been searching for a good doctor for years, but have yet to find even one that I feel I can really trust. It seems to me that doctors are too busy. They overbook and leave patients waiting in their office for hours only to rush in for 5 minutes talk to the patient and run out again leaving your health concern questions only half answered.
Another reason could be that people either can't afford to see a doctor, or don't have the time. They hope whatever is wrong with them can be easily fixed and perhaps someone will say... oh, yeah I had that exact problem, try this.

not everyone asks things that have to be referred to a doctor for information. Doctors arent the ultimate authority on all our bodily functions. Sometimes there are non medical ways to handle regular issues.
This society relies too much on doctors who rely too heavily on medications. Which is why most people are gravely ill, or suffering from some sort of medical problem.
Thats not just my opinion. Its been scientifically proven that the medical field has become so commercialized and medicated that people are often treated for problems they dont have, which result in medications to control side effects, which leads to real medical problems.
Some times common sense and waiting a few days can solve a lot. Knowing your body and when its sending you serious illness signals can do a lot for a person.

Because people would rather get free 2nd rate medical advice than pay for the real thing, some of us on here try to help these people the best we can with what we know, but that is no substitute for seeking medical attention when its needed and I will be the first to tell someone that

trust your doctor? not a day for me to believe that.....l was to have surgery on June 16 - cancelled for the doctors office staff inefficiency...(sent for for wrong test) ..then, starting over .- surgery to now be on .July 7th, l had seen both heart and PC doc, had blood tests, had medtronic official in for adjustment etc. (l have defib/pacer and mech. mitre valve) Ortho Doc had hospital set up for surgery---all things in place....had the last cardiac sonogram, stopped my coumadin 5 days before surgery as necessary and then, only 3 days before....the PC's boss (head doctor of a 2 office group) said, "cancel, l have not had chance to look over all the reports" so l had to start coumadin again - surely balance is off......l also had my daughter come in from a GREAT distance to help me when l got out of the hospital....now she won't be here when l eventually get out of the hospital because she has to start a new job in Atlanta...and l live alone.....l had made special arrangements to make sure my office was covered...(this was difficult as other gals husband is dying of cancer and she has to take a lot of time off)....needless to say, ..l shall report this doctor Mehul Shah- St. Pete, Fl to the proper authorities....... the Heart doctor and the Orthopedic doctors staffs are flabbergasted and as upset as l am about this.
This is why l am down on doctors today and wouldn't care what any of them would say right now!!!
