Contracts CAN be verbal, with some exceptions. One of which is a contract for the sale of real property (ie: real estate). As a result, a contract for the sale of real estate MUST be in writing or it is unenforceable.

VERBAL contracts in TEXAS are not legal. You should never enter into one.

unless your contract is in writing, it's not ENFORCABLE, although verbal contracts are legal.
