Because bragging doesn't mean you can't back it up....it means you're babbling on and on about yourself and things you have or can do.....bragging actually refers to telling the truth, it's just the way you say things I'm sure. You probably are cocky....

Well, I'm not sure what you're "bragging" about exactly, but I would give this advice: the tone in which you speak can convey a lot, so try not to sound over-confident. Also, if you talk about your...ability, or whatever it is, too often, that can also seem "cocky."
I'm a big fan of modesty, myself, and if you are truly being honest and forthright about your claims, then don't worry too much about what others think.

It's still bragging. If you are bragging about something that's *not* true, then you are cocky and a liar. If you are bragging about something that is true, then you are just cocky.

Whether or not you can back it up, it's still bragging. People don't want to hear you constantly talk about how great you are. Keep quiet and maybe people will have more of an appreciation for what you can do.

Being self-confident and being arrogant are two different things. people like to feel confident about themselves and don't appreciate someone who's "cocky"; people who brag about their accomplishments often are trying to lower the confidence of those around them. People resent that.

Is it better to be bragging that you are better than other people, or proving that you are better than other people. Both actions are pretty cocky.

First off re-read your question that doesn't make to much sense
And second likely because you are generally narcissistic and cocky by nature to a point where you couldn't realize it to save your life....

Sometimes it is not what you say, it is how you say it. You are Cocky if you intend to make others feel inferior or if you get off on making others feel like dumb_asses

Hun, you know what us girls think about cocky guys.... They are acting cocky to compensate for lacking size downstairs. Ask any girl and she will tell you just that.
