1) Slp with the wife of someone really really powerful
2) Know the secret of some very powerful organisations or people.
3) Government officials

They have to have some measure of influence on the world around them. Even a teen gang leader can be assassinated although they like to call it a "hit". In other words, there has to be someone or somebodies who plot the murder in order to end the person's influence in order for it to be an assassination.

I always assumed a murder was done by an interested party him/her self.
Assassinations are done by 'pro's'. At least disassociated persons.

It doesnt matter how important they are it matter if the person who kills him goes by he full name ie (Lee Harvy Oswald, James Earl Ray)

murder is killing because you dislike the person... assasinated is more killing the person, not because of who they are, but because of what they do to change events.
