Brazil is a wonderful country - there is so much diversity there that I am hard pressed to give a definitive answer. Certainly, there is poverty in some areas, but there is also wealth and those regular folk just working & taking care of their families - just like everywhere else! The people are friendly and have a wonderful spirit and zest for life and the different regions of Brazil all offer incredible scenery and cultural opportunities. I am from Toronto, Canada and had the great opportunity to visit Brazil for a few weeks years ago - hope to go back one day! Beaches, rainforest, great food, wonderful towns with super friendly people.....in short, I love it!

Brazilians are friendly and beautiful people. They are the Kings of soccer winning more world cups than any other country on earth.

Brazil is also the most important country in the world. Nearly 40 percent of all the tropical rain-forest left in the world is in the Brazilian Amazon. Although Brazil has lost over half
of its tropical rain forest to farming, it has the best opportunity among South American countries to save large portions of it.

The way of the rain-forest goes life on earth.

I'm afraid of it. After seeing the foreign film City of God I am afraid to travel their for fear of being hit by stray gunfire. I imagine that it's probably just that section of Rio, but yikes. I also watched the documentary about the police chief wanting to raid the American gun companies for indirectly supplying the guns. It's a poignant point he makes about Americans and I think everyone should see it.

I have also read that business men should not wear suits when they go there for kidnapping reasons and that AIDS is on the rise. They are also getting lots of negative press about over harvesting the rain forest and possibly eliminating plants that may have cures for diseases.

Come to think of it, it would be nice to hear something good about Brazil. (Besides their prowess in Soccer and Volley Ball.)

I love the colors of the flag. I have not been there but I have a great love for the people. I like the language and I can understand a decent amount of it. The food is great and boy do they know how to dance!
