the company I work for went bankrupt, therefore carried the remaining business over to a new location under a new name. I got lucky and they offered me a position in this "New" company. i am Material Controls and assistant office manager. Although i get paid for less than that position should.

So my boss ( I was close to him as a boss and a friend) moved on to another position in a differnt company. Before he left, he hired someone to fill his position. So i am now TRYING to train my new boss. He has little clue what is going on, but won't let me help him. Meanwhile (and this is the part I need to know) he wants me to give him a copy of my resume. I have been with this company for 2 years, and i don't feel i need to give it to him.

FYI, we are just a warehouse with our main company based in china.

Seriously......

Ask him why? If he just "wants to look at it" I think he is threatened by you. He is YOUR boss and you are training him....

It's an ego thing.

You must have some kind of clue as to why he wants your resume. Does he suspect you lied on it? If you are afraid of his finding out something that will affect your job, maybe it's best to be honest about it? Plan ahead what you will say. List all the reasons why you are still the best person for the job such as the length of time you have done it, anything you have done to improve it, etc. Or you could bluff it all the way. Either way it's going to create an unpleasant work environment with a lot of stress. You need to ask yourself if it's all worth it?

The resume can't hurt your chances with anything. As a a boss he wants to know what your strengths and weaknesses are, at least on paper. He sound a bit domineering however everyone works in different ways.
Just give him a copy of your most up-to-date resume and pray he notices that you know what you are doing and can help him.

He is your boss so you do have to give it to him. I would suggest you update it to present including all the duties you have done with the company you are working for now. For example if you write emails you now have data entry on it. Good luck. Stupid bosses are the worst. They fear you. But have the authority.

Jobs suck. He's the boss so give it to him. You'll find it does little harm to give it to him, but will bring lots of struggle if you don't.
