Any and all training and education makes you more likely to get hired. Don't know what you want to do? Ask the trade school for some pre-enrollment testing to determine what you might be good at.

It will not be a waste of time, in fact with a criminal background it shows that you are putting the past behind. Besides, the trade industry isn't keeping up with demand anyhow...some places even offer compensation benifits to pay for the trade school, including books, housing and tuitions...good luck

It all depends on the type of offense and on her interests. If her interests are in the general area of her offense, then she's probably toast (ex.: 1) felony conviction for theft would disqualify her from being competitve to be hired to be an auditor, cashier, bank teller, loan officer, etc. 2) felony conviction for child endangerment would disqualify her from being a teacher, etc.).
Bottom line: She's pooped in her nest and needs to spend the time and effort rehabilitating her trustworthiness enough for employers to be willing to take a chance with her. She needs to have a skill in an area unrelated to the conduct for which she was convicted.

If the person was under 18, the record is sealed. If over 18 it may be a little harder. Most companies require you to disclose you legal issues. They usually get upset if you forget to. Don't not go to school because you think you won't get a job in the future.... There is plenty of work out there for smart people.

You can certainly go to trade school. Your criminal record has NOTHING TO DO with education and mastering a trade. There are MILLIONS of felons that work as carpenters, roofers, industrial painters, plumbers, machinists, welders, etc.

the world is her playground. We are not bad people just cause we are felons, we just made bad choices. She shouldnt get into nursing or child care, but all else is pretty much open.
