I know it is so hard but it is really best to wait at least until the day you are supposed to get your period. If you test at any time before that you are risking one of two things a false negative. Which you will find out sooner or later. Or you can have what happened to me. I was a few days late took a test got a faint positve then started my period later in the day. It was a chemical pregnancy and in that case it is just better not to know.

"Very early" for a pregnancy test is about 5-6 days before your period is due. It is *physically* impossible to detect a pregnancy earlier than that because, technically, you can't be pregnant earlier.

A woman ovulates about 2 weeks before her next period. It takes a fertilized egg about a week to reach the uterus to start implanting. Until implantation, the zygote isn't attached to your body in any way, so you can't have any physical changes, including hormone production. Then it takes about 2 days to start producing enough HCG (hormone detected by pregnancy tests) to reach a high enough level to spill over into the urine. (Keep in mind, though, that many times it takes 2 weeks for implantation, and it can take up to a full week to have HCG in the uring. So it *may* take a lot longer than the minimum to get an accurate test.)

look early pregnancy tests detect 25 units of hormone (same as blood tests) they only show positive in 6% of women before the first day of your missed period

doctors office won't even do a blood test till you miss your period because they will not get a positive

so the earliest you can get a positive is the day you miss your period no mater how many people tell you you can do it five days before

First Response can supposedly be used about 4 days before your period is due. Just a warning..that testing too early can give you false positives (chemical pregnancies). It's best to hold off for as longas you can!

there are some test that claim that they can tell up to 5 days before your missed cycle. However, I personally would suggest to wait until after your period is late because there is a hormone that is produced in pregnancy and it may not be as strong before as appose to when you are late. Good luck!!!

The earliest is usually 5 days before your period is due, and they are not always completely accurate. When I was trying to get preggos, I would wait until the day I missed my period, just to be safe. If you aren't trying to get preggos, call your doc and see if you can get the morning after pill.
