I think it all depends on what they do with their lives.
If an intelligent person ends up being an engineer and loves his/her job and an unintelligent person works at a newspaper and don't like it then the intelligent person is happier.
It can also work the other way around.
But I believe you have more choices in what you can do if you are intelligent so you can choose to do something that makes you happy.

Unintelligent people. Case in point: I wake up deleriously happy everyday. I know nothing of disease (pandemic or local) or imminent sudden annihilation through deliberate or inadvertent thermonuclear explosion or asteroid.
I don't know why people worry about the birth sign, cancer. People should be greatful for that helpful Aids organization. NvCJD. Another new invention, shows we're making progress. And alzheimers is a good lager.
World affairs, people shouldn't be so selfish and stick to someone local for love. I love my teddy, it's never broken my heart. I like being stupid if that's what you want to call it. Personally I think I'm clever as the world is a good place and I'm the only one who knows it.

People keep telling me they're being ironic with me. Well they must be moronic as I keep telling them I prefer precious metals like quicksilver and fools gold

Happiness does not come from intelligence, it comes from being at peace with yourself and with your life. Don't sweat the small stuff, that is what keeps people from being happy. Life is 10 percent what happens to you, and 90 percent how you react to it. If problems come up, whether big or small, deal with them the best you can, and move on. No sense dwelling on them, if they are in the past, let them be in the past.

People would be much happier in this world if they would learn to put things behind them. Forgive people. If someone has done something to you, and you are harboring anger and resentment for them, who is being hurt? You are. You aren't hurting the person that did something to you by being angry at them. You are hurting yourself and keeping yourself from being happy. Whether intelligent or unintelligent, happiness comes from dealing with issues, and then putting them behind you.

People who have a high EQ are happier than the others.
(Emotional Intelligence, also called EI and often measured as an Emotional Intelligence Quotient or EQ, describes an ability, capacity, or skill to perceive, assess, and manage the emotions of one's self, of others, and of groups)

People give too much credit to intelligence. That plays some part in it but, I don't think that it's a big factor in who's happy and who's not. This question reminds me of when some asshole tried to say that intelligent people are capable of a deeper love. I would say it's equal since both intelligent and stupid people have both miserable and wonderful lives.

Great question I've thought that myself. I still think unintelligent people because they can't care or worry about things they don't understand. Ignorance to the max.
