If we went to war with Iraq because we "thought" they had weapons of mass destruction why are we not declearing war on N.Korea when we know for a fact that they have weapons and are running around shooting them off trying to intimidate other countries ? Not that the U.S would be overly intimidated by them because the weapons we have make theirs look like nerf darts but I am curious as to why we would go to war with Iraq for what we "think" they might be doing but yet let N. Korea do what we Know they are doing and not do anything. To me it makes no sense.

I am aware that they sre not nuclear missles, yet I was just saying that I thought it was odd that we went after Iraq for something they might have and here is someone doing something with something we know they have and it doesnt seem that we are doing anything about it.

Another little reason we aren't quite ready to take on North Korea, is CHINA. China being communist and N. Korea being communist, kinda makes them friends, or at least allies. And I'm pretty sure, we don't want to go to war with China. They outnumber us about 6:1 and oh yes, they too have the weapons of mass destruction everyone is so worried about. So it is not necessarily the North Koreans, the Chinese play a bit of a role too.

The war with Iraq came about after over a decade of negotiations and imposed sanctions. Saddam failed to adhere to the demands of the Int'l community and disobeyed several UN security counsel resolutions. The final resolution threatened military force.
.
There is currently a push for the surrounding Asian powers along with the US to try to negotiate and pressure N Korea into not building long range and nuclear weapons. The talks are in there infancy, whereas the talks with Saddam had long been exhausted before the war began.

You all are a bunch of hypocrets. Here is the reasons

1. If we declared war with them they would launch nukes to other nearby countrys and maybe ours and kill millions. They actually have launch pads. In iraq they supposidly had them but didnt have them ready to launch or tested them.

2. N Korea isn't running around trying to itimidate other countrys they are testing their missles to see if they work and that is a problem if it works and it is a threat if they can launch the missles with nucklear war heads.

3. USA we have them but we know that we wouldnt use the mass destruction weapons in a bad way

When did North Korea get nukes? Last I checked they "might" be developing them but that might take decades.

Strangely enough a very large percentage of Americans seem to have been informed incorrectly about the situation... Could it be our media?

They don't have anything we want at the moment. That is the ONLY reason anyone ever goes to war.

Could it be, despite a 'show of force' that N. Korea is not such a big deal because they don't have oil reserves as vast as that of Iraq.? Your question is very timely and insightful. thanks
