Well, the black Spidey suit is supposed to be an alien sentient being that wants to take control of it's host (in this case Peter Parker).
At first, Peter doesn't realise that the suit is an alien parasite, and he enjoys the increased powers it gives him. But later he realises that the alien is evil and wants to take complete control Peter....so, after a huge struggle, Peter manages to defeat the alien using sound waves.
Eventually, the alien (the black suit) goes on to find another host (an aquaintance of Peter's - I forget his name), and it becomes Venom.
At least, that's what the back suit is in the comic books. The movie has the same characters as the Spiderman comic books, but it doesn't follow the comics exactly.
We'll just have to wait until the movie comes out to see how they handle the black suit....
It's obvious that there is a black suit, but that doesn't neceseraly mean that we will see Venom. The main villan for SpiderMan 3 will be Sandman. I think there will be a cliffhanger at the end of the movie that hints at Venom.....Venom may appear in the 4th film.

I saw the trailer i think this might be the best Spiderman yet..
i do think that the black suit represents Vemon... he battles the good ans evil within..
go to yahoo movies and check out the trailer there you'll get why the black suit!!!

The black suit is that of Venom, who is supposed to be in the new movie and he will be played by topher grace. Spiderman goes thru a change and eventually venom goes from spiderman to another person and that person is played by topher, so you will see both in the movie.

No its not Venom himself.
Its still spiderman. But infected with Venom's venom. Theres this one part, you see this black goo hovering spidey. Yes, thats it.
