I ain't black, I am an American, and I do not treat blacks like ****. I don't run the show, and I am not wealthy. Stupid, ignorant, rich, conservative white people have been running this country too long, and the average person is too damn lazy to get involved to change it.

Just one hundred years ago, our nation was still in the first years of believing that blacks were even totally human. We have made a lot of progress. Education is the key as well as empowerment through information and the concept of "sankofa..." Sankofa is an Akan word that means, "We must go back and reclaim our past so we can move forward; so we understand why and how we came to be who we are..." Too many people are willing to ignore the need for reparation and acknowledgment of discrimination. In my family I have a small business owner who has been a success for over 10 years, my sister is taking the bar later this month, my husband is a doctor and he is the 3rd doctor to marry into my family. My aunt was the athletic director of the Indiana State Athletic Association and has a large administrative complex named after her. An aunt on the other side of my family was a civic leader and had a community center named on her behalf. Many wealthy wise family members are diligently building a legacy for our own families and communities. The need to heed the rewards of "delayed gratification" would go so far in helping black people to claim rewards available to ALL Americans, no matter your background or racial makeup. Many people love and respect black people. The ignorant ones got that way because of stupidity perpetuated by their parents, our vacuum/narrow education system and the paradox of white priviledge. The secret to overcoming all this is to manifest relationships that cross color and class lines. Many cities are championing such causes, like my wonderful city of Shaker Heights, Ohio. I'm from Indiana, though, originally. Peace.

There are plenty of weathy Black people. You have been fed a convenient line of propaganda, my friend! For example, did you know that Oprah Winfrey is one of the wealthiest people IN THE WORLD?
Furthermore--and I truly hate to say this--but some social classes of Blacks in the USA glorify in "underclass behavior" and so cause problems for their own people.
Some Black people actually think that being educated is akin to "trying to be White." I observed this very thing, with my own eyes and ears, in my INTEGRATED high school, way back in 1967, and the height of the civil rights movement--and I've never been able to understand why a certain social class of Blacks picked that particular moment in history to not only take pride in being semi-literate social outcasts but to try to convince their middle-class brethren to do likewise. They seemed to have forgotten hundreds of years of "Black History," in which people had been willing to DIE for the right to be educated.
Futhermore, people from that social class have glorified sports, drug-dealing (and other criminal behavior), and music (in particular, "Rap") as being "preferred" ways to earn a living--nevermind that only a relative few people ever make it to the professional levels of sports, that becoming a major break-out musical act is almost as rare, and that criminal behavior is a dead-end street.
Going back to my own high school, at the point when I graduated, in 1970: Three or four of my fellow students, all young Black women, were in the running for the top student rankings. How could this have happened, given the anti-education attitudes that had become so prevelent among their fellow Blacks at that time? The answer is that they had the strength of character to not listen to a bunch of underclass hoodlums, and they saw through the sheer idiocy of defining "normal," civilized behavior as "trying to be White." Two of them got into Stanford University, on a full scholarship.
If the DVD is available in your country, then try to rent a copy of the movie, "Crash." It's all about racism in the USA, and--even though it's a work of fiction--it effectively illustrates the fact that bad racial attitudes are universal, among all races and social classes, in this country.

The list is long. They do it to themselves. Its not my fault or America's. They have access to free education, just because they are black. I worked with a really cool black lady for awhile, and we had deep discussions just like this. She said its hard to find a good blackman, that has not been in jail, doesnt do drugs, and has a job. They dont want to fit in. Pants hangin off their butts, ball caps slung to the side, they take pride in this Rap music, thats all bout gangster stuff. And their young people look up to that way of life. Maybe if their dads hung around to raise their kids, things could change. Maybe they would rather hang on the street corner lookin cool, than work hard. Dont get me wrong there are alot of awesome blacks in this world. And frankly, I havent met a black person I didnt like. And some of the women I admire and think are role models are black. Condeleeza Rice, Oprah, Maya Angelou. Its not Americas fault now. They have been given opportunities to raise up.They need to get over this slave issue, people today had nothing to do with that. I dont owe them anything, they need to pull themselves up. The gangbangers are not helping their races. How have they gotten away with their excuses for so long. There are wealthy blacks. Look at how many awesome black athletes there are, Oprah is one of the richest people in the world. They got no one to blame but themselves. They can go to school and get jobs just like the rest of Americans. They do get jobs over whites, just because they are black. Maybe not as qualified, but just because they are black. So, please dont accuse America of getting away with it. You obviously only have part of the information. A white man stopped slavery. Just like whites, there are bad ones and good ones, in any nationality.
