Some boys really do love girls, but the idea is that they want some thing in return and it's like you say, it's a shame...
To love some one to me means that it comes from the heart and with the under standing that it is--
with out conditions, exceptions or rules, just tell me that I'm yours
if you can see him giving that for you, then he is in love with you, he will also cry for you and sex to him is more than some quickie thing you 2 have..
Ask him this question -- you have come home from work, your beat, dirty and hungry, it's raining and you find you have a kitten on your door step --- what would you do.. If he can show such remorse for such a small animal that should give you some clue as to what his soft spots are..

The male of our species can not at first distinguish the difference in emotions he is feeling because they all feel similar to him, good feelings, " like, love, lust, well being," all feel similar and like wise, bad feelings, " hate, anger, jealousy," all feel the same. It takes experience and time for him to use his brain to figure out which feeling he has had. That is why most males seem to separate them selves from emotion, they have to use experience and logic to know what they have felt... If he is impulsive a male in a moment of pleasure will say " I love you," but it may take him two weeks to know if he really meant it.
So when a boy says " I love you " what he is really saying is " I am having fun right now, I don't know what I will feel in the future, but right now it is good".

They are trying to get sex. By the way, they might think they really mean it. It's natural. Be true to yourself. Show people what love is. Perhaps boys will learn through your example.

Cuz love is a word and when you truly are ''in love'' well theres no actual word to describe the real thing. Women just tend not to get this view I've got though cuz they watch too many movies about feelings and stuff.

Guys have been finding out that if they tell a girl they love them they will get them to do what they want (i.e. to have sex with them). Also some guys are good at knowing what a girl wants to hear to keep something going.

They think I love you is an easy way to get into bed with you. If you believe that someone loves you, then you're more likely to share that intimate side of yourself, and that's what guys want more than anything.

They mean it at the time they say it, but they do not guarantee that it will last. Women interpret it as meaning love forever.

It's easier. Imagine the the dicomfort at the end of the following exhange:
"Honey, I love you," she says.
"Yeah, I really like you too."

Girls do the same G-D thing; just ask my ex-wives. They ooh'ed and ahh'ed and I-Love-You'd right up until the time the money rolled in and they were financially set. Then they morphed into "IF-YOU-DON'T-LIKE-THE-WAY-THINGS-ARE-THEN-PACK-YOUR-S***-AND-GET-TO-F***-OUT." To paraphrase a rap song from 4 or 5 years ago... "HEY! MUST BE THE MONEY!"

I think you mean, "Why do PEOPLE..."
I've only said "I love you" to two women and I meant it, whole-heartedly. On the other hand, BOTH of those women said they loved me and neither one did.
