I have this msn friend for 6 months, him and i are so prone to arguments but at the same time we love to chat and laugh and joke...i dont get it, we tell each other lots but then when he or i say something "wrong" we just blow up - and then the next day, we just start over again lol....its quite funny but annoying at the same time, he doesnt have a g/f but he claims that he loves some girl, so im sure theres no attraction between us, but i keep thinking maybe there is clash of character between us, but then again we seem to get along so well and understand each other a lot...
so is it clash of character?

Hmmm....yeah, maybe we are just too stubborn - he thinks we are completely opposites but i think we both are exactly the same!!

no no, i dont like him, he's sweet but i dont think i do - it was because i have asked a few of my friends and they keep saying that theres something between us, but i dont think there is- that is why i am trying to pin point whether it is clash of character...but then i keep thinking "we get along and understand each other so well most of the time too though!"

Yes, I think some people are more argumentative than others, but that's not necessary a bad thing though. It's when these arguments or being too opinionated get you in trouble, like upsetting someone and being hurtful, that you should start to worry.
It could also be that you do argue about something because you both feel strongly about it, which too is not a bad thing - and this is where you actually have something in common, and DOES keep you interested in what the other has to say. This is also where you say that you 'seem to get along so well and understand each other a lot'. It is because you respect what the other has to say, and that possibly what comes out of it is something that you can see why it was said, though you yourself may not necessary agree with. I hope that makes sense!! : )
Could it be that it shows that you care enough about each other that you do 'argue'? I mean, it could be that you are both passionate about something that your views at the end of the day do weigh up both sides of the argument - it'll depend on what are the things you are argue about. But yes, you are both very stubborn, but it's good that you care enough to voice your opinion / speak up!! : )
So to this end, you probably have quite a bit more in common than it first seems. A clash in personality, for me (but maybe not for you), would not keep the two of you talking. What do you think? : )
I agree with Sakshi C's great response, there is a hint in your question that you may possibly like him, which did strike me, when I read your answer!! There's nothing with it, it's good - you engage with each other on a level that perhaps matters. No two people in a relationship go through life agreeing.

The problem is over the net, things can be easily misunderstood, its not always easy to type how you feel, I know this as I have a friend whom i have been chatting to on the net for 2 years. We have meet now 3 or 4 times and we get on perfectly, (no love there), but as soon as we get back on the net, its argue argue argue

Some people just love to have clash of ideoligies...aka arguments and trust me its a part and parcel of all the relationships.. and no two people are alike.. and that is another reason that once u disagree on something.. you get back.
Tel me- u mentioned about he liking a girl and all... do u urself like him....?? Because normal arguments between two ppl who are friends are natural...!!!but the way you inquired it seems that you are trying to make up your mind about him...!!!
