Q. While you are dreaming, you are snatched from your body and you find yourself in front of two doors and two talking computers. A voice tells you that you cannot escape, you must walk through one of the doors and abide there for eternity.

The voice tells you that behind one door is a life of hard labor and misery, and behind the other door is wealth, fame and happiness.

The voice tells you that one computer is a Truthful Computer, and the other computer is the Untruthful computer. You can only ask one of them one question about the doors.

What do you ask?

A. You ask either computer what the other computer would say, and do the opposite because 1) the Truthful computer would truthfully tell you what the other computer would say, which would be a lie, and 2) the Untruthful computer would lie to you about what the Truthful computer would actually say.

Three men walk into a hotel looking to share one room. They ask the clerk How much the room will cost. He says $30. so they each pony up $10. and head for the room. After they leave, the clerk realizes he overcharged them and the room is only $25. so he calls the bell-boy over, hands him 5 singles and tells him to take it up and give it back to the three gentlemen. In the elevator, the bell-boy thinks, "There are five singles and three men, how will they split that?" so he stuffs two singles in his pocket and gives each man one dollar back. That means that each man was refunded a dollar reducing their payment to $9.00. $9.00 X 3 = $27.00 + the $2.00 the bellboy took = $29.00. Where did the other dollar go? ........... This is a logical progression that comes to an illogical conclusion. It works out when figured another way, but not this way.
