By definition pollution damages the environment. Nature has a lot of self-correcting mechanisms that cause adjustments when major changes are made in the environment. Despite that, we can see how forests become meadows, meadows become grasslands, grasslands become deserts and eventually the trend is reversed. Man tends to interfer with nature. Stopping natural errosion and causing unnatural errosion, raping forests, stopping the natural processes and imposing his own. Normally it takes tens of thousands of years for major climate change. With the greenhouse effect of air pollution we are causing the changes to come faster by seveal orders of magnitude. Last years hurricanes were not a coincidence. We are making the earth less and less habitable in the long run while we make ourselves "comfortable" in our daily lives.

We need to change from being consumers to being conservers if we want a hospitible world for our children and their children.
