Oh wow, talk about lash abuse! You should never curl them after applying primer or mascara! This is very damaging to the lashes and can cause them to break off or fall out.

Try instead using a heated eyelash curler or just use a blowdryer for a few seconds on a metal curler until it's warm but not hot. Then when you apply mascara, apply it from underneath the lashes, sweep up slowly, and when you get to the tips, hold them upright with the wand for a few seconds so they can begin to dry.

If you don't need thickness, I would apply a lengthening mascara, since the volumizing mascara will weigh your lashes down a bit more.

And believe me, even though you like the look of your lashes, no one will go around pointing at the girl with flat lashes if they don't stay curly all day :)

Two great products are Mary Kay's Signature mascara and L'Oreal Paris's Voluminous mascara. Actually, the L'Oreal brush allows you to place the brush at the base of your lashes on the top side, and rotate the brush so that it catches your lashes and curls them upwards while applying the mascara. If your lashes are short, this may be tricky, but try! If it's not working out for you, or maybe in addition to, use an eyelash curler once the mascara has dried.

NO!

WHAT YOU NEED iS!:

-To stop wearing mascara for a couple of weeks [yes i know it's hard]- i *used to* look like death without mascara on...but now my eyelashes have grown out so much just by taking a break from the eyeliner and mascara! your LASHES will thank you for it!

-rub CASTOR OiL on your lashes before you go to sleep...mine have become so long and full! i actually came onto yahoo answers looking for ways to make my eyelashes longer...and someone suggested castor oil..and i was like hmmmm...i guess it's worth a try...i didn't get my hopes up ..wasn't expecting anything...but wHAT do yOU know! it ACTUALLY worked! my top eyelashes have gone from short and stubby to fuLL and FLUTTERry! AND my BOTTOM eyelashes that were almost non-existant have grown! and are noticeably dARKER!!! i am sO happy....and this is just after 2WEEKS of rubbing castor oil at the base of my eyelashes every night!! [][you can buy castor oil at any drugstore or pharmacy][]

-buy the SHU UEMERA eyelash curler! it DOESN'T pull out your lashes or pinch your eyelids [OUCH!]. it's very gentle!.and gives a nice natural "fan" curl OUTWARDS and UPwaRDS..instead of simply crimping them..damaging your lashes making them bend in an unnatural way...and it doesn't PULL out my eyelashes out like my other curlers did! it's kind of expensive [$16] but it's so worth it for the RESULTS you get!

i just bought my SHU UEMERA curler off eBay! i was skeptical at first but i LOVE LOVE LOVE it! people think i'm wearing fake eyelashes!

**always remember to CURL your lashes first THEN apply mascara!...once you've put on the mascara DON'T curl your lashes anymore*** [not good for the curl or your lashes]

The best way to curl your eyelashes is by using a small spoon, Like a baby spoon; i know, this might sound funny but it works better than the curler and it will prevent your eyelashes to fall off.

blow dry your eyelash curler for about 15 seconds curl lashes then put on mascara...dont blow dry more than that or you'll end up burning yourself...OR...you can apply baby powder on your lashes curl them and then apply mascara works real nice

Have you tried the eyelash curlers that heat up, they are safe and they are amazing. I got one from my mother, she sales AVON, and they are great. I recommend using that along with the volumizing mascara.

that's the only way that i know how...although, i saw on the news the other day that there are people who can PERM your eyelashes for you, but it's VERY expensive....like $75 the first time and then $175 every time after that! i'd just stick to what you know though
