I believe its Nicola Tesla who invented the first radio, but i don't remember if he did get a patent for it.
Yeah, Jagdish Chandra Bose was the Indian physicist and plant physiologist, he Invented many microwave and waveguide. Some claim he's the real inventor of the wireless.

Heinrich Hertz discovered radio waves (1887), but that was long before radio technology was developed. In honor of his work, the unit of frequency was named after him: 1 Hertz (Hz) is 1 cycle per second.
