That would be entirely up to the college where you wanted to teach. Having said that, however, I don't think many, if any, colleges will honor your Ph.D. if it is from an unaccredited school. That is the risk you took when you went for your degree online and from an unaccredited school.

I have to call them as I see them.

My question is why would you spend the time and money necessary for a PhD from an unaccredited university? You must have known at some point that your degree from them would carry no weight in the teaching world-maybe you can teach at a junior college or vocational arena-certainly no where else. Since you've already spent your money and time, perhaps you can spend a little more and challenge some courses at an accredited university and make your degree truly worth something. Was your bachelor or masters degree also from an unaccredited place? Perhaps you need to revisit your "guidance counselor".

Unaccredited? It's not likely. Academic jobs are in high demand anyway, so I predict that--*especially* in private colleges--your accredited peers will be looked upon more favorably.

Nope, if your degree is not recoginzed as accredited it is useless in most cases.

How did you earn a Ph.D and not know that?? Some real good money you spent on that piece of paper.

I don't have a clue, my best suggestion would be to call a private college and ask them!
