As it is only for fun it does not matter too much.

However, I have seen two players raise and reraise several times, this forces the other players to put in more money than they would like or fold. And then one player mysteriously folds or it comes to a showdown and one of the players has nothing at all.

Is it an attempt by the player with nothing to tempt others to keep calling and so boost the pot for the one with the good hand? Or is he/she simply an idiot?

while there may be cases of players colluding, often I have found that it is simply bad play on one players part.

if you watched those players play over time, you would likely find that one or both play very loose all the time - they are in every hand, raising and re-raising every round, no matter what cards they have. admittedly they lose more often than they win playing this strategy, but you're right, it definitely changes the game.

well they might be in on it together. Or the player is a rookie and don't know what there doing. But I guess you can never know for sure.
