Which lawmakers voted against net neutrality, allowing the telecom carriers to slow down the internet unless companies paid big bucks for bandwidth? I want to know so that I'll never vote for them again.

The important thing to remember is that the Internet was created with public funds. It was designed by the Defense Department in the 1960s, and most of the money to build its core infrasructure was supplied by Congress in the 1980s.
And now big corporations want to come along and take over this public space, the same way they took over the public airwaves in the 1940s. It's just another money grab by corporate America.

As to the heroes and villians:
In the House, Ed Markey (D-MA) attempted to add Net Neutrality to the new telecommunications bill. It was shot down in a fairly party-line vote of 152-269.
Here is the vote (Roll Call 239, June 8):

On the Senate, the bill is S 2917, which is sponsored by Olympia Snowe (R-ME) with 10 Democratic co-sponsors. It will debated as part of the Stevens telecommunications bill soon.
Here is the relevant info on S 2917 from Thomas:

Well nobody has voted on it yet. They have sent it back for more study. Believe me, they are not making big bucks. Networks are extremely expensive to build and maintain. If your car takes up more than one lane on a highway I think you should pay more to use that highway. Looks to me like the googles and yahoo's of the world are trying to protect their profits at the expense of the Networks. I think they will come to a happy medium, they always do.
