You got terrified on the road doesn't mean it is less travelled. You selected one road by looking at the number of people's list probably not right also.

If the road is not offering any destination, and you are not very sure of where it leads, then it will terrify you. If you are sure of the outcome and you opted consciously, then whatever comes will be taken as experiences to get matured to reach the destination and nothing will terrify you. Still it terrifies, your mind is not fixed on where to go and how.

Because when you don't know what is ahead of you, it is scary! The Road Not Taken by Frost is my favorite poem, in the poem, the two roads represent choices, take the easy, well-known path or the unknown less-trodden one, you know where you are going on the well-known because so many have taken this path but the other draws you to it because it is new and exciting but there is no going back once you make the choice! Taking the road less trodden is scary because we don't know what it holds and once you make the choice there is no returning, you have to live with it whether it be good or bad, it can lead you on the most exciting life path or down a road of regret. Choice is yours though! Have fun!

People naturally fear the unknown, the less understood, owing back to our past (e.g. Cro Magnon man, early, cave-dwelling Homo Sapiens) because the unknown can easily get you killed. However, this belief has become maladaptive in today's world where, for the most part, our unknown paths are philosophical or sociological adventures, rather than going into a dark cave after a bear.

Because there are rocks and pitfalls crated by people who don't understand others who want to create their own way so they make it very difficult. It is easier for many to follow a proven way then walk on the path leass traveled. If your on it continue , it is exciting when the dirt road starts to become paved...Good Luck

the road that has been more trodden on is more flat..
roads less trodden dont have that advantage..they're uneven..
also untrodden roads have less people walking on them..less information on what you can expect..

Strange ground is always met with some trepidation.Dangers can lurk there. The middle ground is gouged out by traffic etc so it appears safe. Some people don't worry about that and explore safely if they are smart. Its not terrifying when you are walking on it. Keep safe but don't ever deny yourself life.
