You did fairly well in your question structure; drop the "the" and you have a fine sentence. (I will ignore the double-punctuation issue.)
Lesson 1: SpellChek is a deceiving crutch; it is not perfect.
Lesson 2: Read, and I don't mean email. Go to the library and get a book - I'm enjoying All the King's Men by Robert Penn Warren right now - so you can get some experience in how professionals use the language. That is an excellent way to start.
Of course, you've made a good start by posing the question.
Lesson 3: Ignore "prof." ALL CAPS is not proper English.
