Start by taking a shower..
then take any woman friend clothes shopping with you. not the 1 u wanna impress, any other 1.
ask her what clother look good on you an stuffs like that and by yourself new clothes.. and mabe a nice aftershave, get the other woman to choose though... then take mrs. X on a nice date..
ps: the woman who goes shopping with you, mustn't be your mother.! good luck
