I have had an ING Direct account for many years. In Australia there are no bank fees, it is linked to an existing bank account for transfers, its interest rate is very good, a little below official rates set by the reserve bank and there is no penalty for withdrawals any time. Its introduction revolutionised deposit savings accounts in Australia and all the banks were forced to offer something competitive to it, because it was miles ahead of anything on offer at the time
