It's actualy pretty hard to tell if someone is lying...all this stuff about if they look to the left/right, if they twitch or wiggle their legs, if they blush, sweat - are NOT accurate indicators. One way that deception can be measured is an increase of the pitch of the voice, tho obviously you would have to know the baserate of that persons voice (and the increase is often inaudible to the human ear). Another is by studying facial expression using Ekmans Facial coding system - see link here

I dont think you will find anything on the internet about exactly how to read deception in faces using this code as Ekman seems to keep it close to his chest, though you can go on his training programs....From my research, nonverbal facial cues seem to be the most effective method to read deception, and polygraphs ('lie detector machines') should be thrown out of the nearest window! ummmmm
if you want to check if somebody is generally lying,
it is better to check this out as a witness when having a talk with a 3rd party, or in a different situation . . .
someone that lies easily once, he definitely lies easily to you as well
tell a funny story about sometime that you had lied in the past and watch his reactions . . .
tell him another sad story about an old best friend of yours that she lied to you and since then you never talked again . . .
from body gestures . . .he would not be looking in the eyes when he lies . . but you will never be 100% sure anyway . . .

If a person can't look you in the eye when they are telling you something they are lying. Also when they touch their face when talking they are usually lying if they touch low on their face it's a small lie(usually an exaggeration) if they touch high on their face or even their head, it's a huge lie.

body language. some people touch their face when lying becase it's "covering" the lie. when lying about a yes or no question, they'll nod their head opposit. so if they're saying no, they'll nod their head up and down. if they can't keep eye contact, they're probably lying. if it's when their sitting down, they'll move around alot in their seat but if they're standin they'll mess with their hands alot.

an old mafia guy once told me that you know someone is lying when they look to the right while answering your question. They are looking right so that they can block the punch you are about to throw at them.

There are subtle physiological changes in most people when they lie. These can be observed by a trained observer, and/or detected by sensitive equipment.

when there's something odd in the way they talk. like they kinda mumble their words to think of the lie and avoids eye contact. or with some people their nostrils gets bigger and they kinda blush.

if you are a good judge of character you will pick these things up quickly. ie: his/her expression, the way he/she produces body signals, most important their eyes will tell you immediately if they are lying.
