It is called "Masks"...
We all wear masks, depending on what we are doing...
The only times our mask comes down and shows our true selves are at the point of orgasm and when we sleep... Times when we are unable to control the mask...
We have a mask for work, we have a mask for friends, we have a mask for loved ones...
We show these masks to make ourselves acceptable to others... And make them like us... Or fear us... Or whatever is needed to make things work for us...

Why do women act like the laddett and all independent, with the 'I don't need a man in my life' when they're with their their mates, and then when they are alone with you they are all loving and soft and quieter and submissive?
As longneck242002 pointed out,
'Macho men don't dance'.

If they acted loving, soft & quieter in front of their mates, their mates would take the mickey and he would get the reputation of being a wimp or a poof, no man would want that, they want their friends respect and admiration, the same resons why the young men only want good looking, sexy girlfriends

It is just to show off, as they feel like they have to prove something when they are out with there friends, and when they are with the ladies, they feel embarased, and not to mention most girls would like have a right go if the guy was to act all macho, and show off, now when I have gone out with my friends, and gone clubbing years ago I always behaved in a gentlemen manner, and never acted all macho, I always believe in treating a lady likea lady!

We have the same need to mingle with everyone else as woman have. Woman talk about certain things, men talk just like that. It's a cultural thing... Society has its "traditions" and people are brought up in them, so you kinda do what you were taught to do...
And this is a valid principle for most kind of social talking...
Most of the times, you are what you were made. Sometimes some people are "made" different and those think different...

I don't know for sure, but I think it has something to do with all that testosterone.....it's a competition thing with guys, who's toughest and all that. And if you have one that puts all that crap aside when you are alone, cool! Eventually, after some maturity, he may even begin to act the same way towards you in front of his mates!

The Psychologist's answer would be - Conformity. Humans will conform to the behaviour patterns of the majority for the society in which they exist automatically.
My own answer is - The only difference between a man and a boy, is the cost of his toys!!!!

Insecurity is probably what makes your boyfriend act a complete ****, then he'll treat you like crap in front of his mates and be loving towards you when your alone together.

I guess they think, their behaviour will impress their mates, but in reality it doesn't, it just makes them look like an idiot. A real man would not act this way, if yours is, move on and find yourself a real man!
