Thinkpad is an IBM brand (now Lenovo) for notebook/laptop computers.
The only difference between laptop and notebook is that laptop the term has been around longer - they refer to the same device style.
Just remember, if you are male, do not use them in your lap as the heat can cause temporary sterility.

You must have already known the difference b/w notebook and laptop by now.. but nobody has answered which is slickest.!! well.. go for intel M.. which is mobile technology. Those proccessor with M technology are very slim and light. Specially that of IBM now lenovo...!!. they have thinkpad which is awesome and weighs very less. it can go down to 12.1" and it's very light. or u can opt for 14" which is standard but looks beautiful. However you get slim laptops from other companies too but they dont come near to IBM.. it's awesome..!!

You miss out the latest, which is probably the slickest. Slate Tablet PCs. Check out Motion Computing. They have won a lot of awards. With their convertible keyboard, you have a choice of having the unit looking like a laptop or detach it and enjoy using the digital ink function or surfing the Internet on your favourite chair. you need to look at the game requirements of the game you want to play then most mobile cpus arnt for gamming and you probably need a 128mb video card on the lap top if you have a 15.4 or 17 inch screen you will probably have to keep it plugged in even tho the battery is fully charged it my not play games unless it plugged in most large screen lap top are realy portable desktop and the battery life is very short playing games may be half an hour
