My children and I love our home but our work , school and friends are and hours drive away and we would only afford a smaller property in the more expensive area where the school and work are.

In londons traffic - an hours drive can mean 5 miles away.

stay where u are - you'll soon want to move back to the quieter more remote location.

as for the petrol - get a smaller car with the money you've saved from house moving costs !!

If you love where you live then make the sacrifice of driving the distance. But if it really doesnt matter about the house then I would recommend moving to a new house. The convienence would be worth it.

Well we are doing the same thing too, and I feel pretty confident everything is near, no paying triple for gas mileage and more things to do, keep yourself entertained.
