When you are having a hard time keeping your eyes open, gently massage the skin around your eyes for 1 and 1/2 minutes. This stimulates the blood flow and can buy you twenty to thirty minutes of relative alertness.
Repeat as needed.

I know you said no coffee, but try this one; have a strong cup of coffee and a nap for twenty minutes. When you wake up the coffee should kick in and you will get a good lift. Wouldn't try this one too often though; noting can beat a good nights sleep ;)

whatever you do, don't go for a long drive on the highway! You could try playing a sport and sustain an injury in a vulnerable area - I guarantee you will be wide awake after that!

Have chocolates and fresh fruit juices. Chocolates give you the energy boost you need.
