Afganistan is safe. It is just the land mines that get you. You will make enough money to take care of your family for life.

I have a friend working for Haliburton in Iraq and he make 10 thousand a month driving a bus in camp Anaconda. Don't know anyone in Afghanistan although the pay would likely be similar.

Yep... Money is really good there (as we saw in Indian Engineer Suryanarayana's murder case). Your employer will pay hefty insurance on your head. But You wont be there to enjoy all that you earn :-(
Better Option is : contact Taliban and become a member of them. They also have good prices on Foreigners heads (I think). In that case, no life lost, you can enjoy your booty.
