This is actually interesting because, I have only been under a general anaesthetic once and the many years ago and the only recollection of the event was the very clear blank of memory. Although my body was kept alive the brain, memory and soul were lost for that period.
You must have experienced the same.
Answer, it was post back from where it came for the duration.

The soul remains in the body until the time of death.
A few people have also asked what happens to the soul when someone has a heart transplant - the answer is that soul is capable of moving from one body to the next so it can do this when a heart is transplanted.

>Extract>The human Soul is the result of the Spirit entity which dwells in the human corporeal body. The spirit being shall live in the corporeal body only when there is continuance of the existence of chemical compound reactions in the body, such as availability of energy, radiation, blood flow, etc.
So id guess that the soul stays with the body as you are not dead just sleeping!

Since the soul is the person, the soul is under anesthesia too. Humans do not have souls. Humans are souls.

AS LONG AS A HUMAN IS CLINICALLY ALIVE, THE SOUL IS IN ITS ABODE near the Heart. The Soul enters a human body with the first beat of heart in the womb... and departs with the last beat.

The soul is not housed in the body in the first place, so it focuses elsewhere. Whether we "remember" where it has been is a different matter entirely due to our poor old brain (filter) being frazzled by anaesthetic.

Since humans are soul, it will go nowhere during general anesthesia or anything of that sort.
