When the confidence cannot be backed up by talent.
Micheal Schumacher is very confident, but has shown he is good enough to be,
Jenson Button, claims to be the best driver and capable of a world championship, yet has never won a race. A great champion needs to be able to develop the car to be a winner. Jenson cannot do that.
Jenson is arrogant. Michael is confident.

Self-confidence is defined as: Confidence in oneself or one's own abilities.
Arrogance is defined as: Overbearing pride evidenced by a superior manner toward inferiors.
So i think the difference is that a self-confident person may believe themselves to be very good in some ability. The arrogant person would tell people how good they were in some ability. :)

self confidence i think is just beleiving your beautiful regardless of the way others veiw you and having no worrys about what others think...no arrogance is when you choose too say or do things to get a reaction out of pple too boost yourself and lower them. Somtimes we all feel a tad crappy and friends can cheer us up, but if you see your friends fading because all you do is talk about yourself..then you need too stop looking in the mirror; litteraly!!!
hope this helps.

When you don't appreciate, admire, love, care for other people,
Self confidence makes you feel good in any interaction with other people cause you never feel attacked
Once this interaction is not good, it means you crossed the line and you act arrogant, thinking everybody besides you is stupid or whatever!

Real self-confidence is quiet. You speak of what you know, what you have, where you've been, what you've done only if it really supports the argument / the dialog at hand.
If you speak (boasts) of what you've seen, what you got, where you've been, how much you know out of context and just for the sake of it, I think that's arrogance.
