My friend far as I know MIDI file is better then WAV file because WAV file is larger then MIDI furthermore With MIDI file you can IMPORT IT in any music software and change the parameters or MIDI code also the INSTRUMENTS TOO but you cannot do that with WAV file.
Only thig you can change with WAV is tempo, flanger, echo, increase volume and so on but with MIDI well you can do much more.

but why bother doing that? wav files are huge compared to midi
