Very tuff to do on situps alone. When in Marine boot I did 56 in one min for my pft. Simple process actually. Do a quick jumpin jack n mountain climber warmup and then do situps, pullups, pushups, and run. Do each for 10 mins and all together non stop pushing yourself to your limit constantly (don't worry... there comes a point when you get your "second wind" on each and you can do m all day then if you want to). Do this 3-6 times a day and more when you have spare time. Eat like a horse and sleep 8 hrs whenever possible each day. A lot of work and time consuming... but in a couple months (if you stick with it and didn't start in horrible physical shape) you should be able to reach that goal doin it with one hand... good luck.

I suggest going to a gym and asking the advice of the instructors there. Probably work on upper body strength. Work up to doing 50 push ups and then reduce the time to 2 mins steadily?
Are you looking at this for joining the military? If so then also work on your mile and a half time and two minutes of situps. The run comes first followed by the situps and then finally the push ups. Bear this in mind when doing your training and let the gym instructors know all of this too.
Good luck!

The fastest way is to do pushups. Do as many as you can without stopping, and try hard to increase your number everyday. 50 pushups in 2 minutes shouldn't be hard, especially if you're a guy. Im a female and I can do 55 in 2 minutes. Lifting weights and benchpress helped me alot too.

as everyone says, just start doing them - I have and now do, but remember push ups are quite a strain on the lower back so make sure you are both warmed up, and have concurrently started to work the lower back

Ok Push ups, but also bench press, incline bench press, dips, any bi-cep and tri-cep exercise. These are all muscles that you will use to do a push up.

You could probably get some dumb book on amazon but the truth is there are no shortcuts here, son! Just you, the floor and your stopwatch!
Good luck!
