In php, I am calling a php page from my main page. but the problem is that the updated session values are not?

available with the session. I am getting it only after browser refresh.

Are you using cookies to transfer the session id? This is typically the default in a normal PHP setup, though they can be disabled in PHP.INI

Try using a browser that can be set to manually approve cookies via a pop-up when a page tries to set one (FireFox, for instance), and see if the cookies are being set properly that way.
