How can religous people be so naive to think that their religion is the right religion when so many religions have come and gone in the past?

Christians know it, others will find out later. You don't have to agree with it, or even like it.

Have a great week.

I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I don't belong to a religion though. I've made a firm decision, and it's what I believe in and what I've committed myself to. I have proof that it is real.
It has nothing to do with naivity. If I didn't think it was right, I'd still be wavering like you are. If people don't believe their religion is right, then they are still searching to think that the other ones may be valid.
Come to think of it....it's like liberalism. What you believe one day, may not be popular a month later, so you change your mind....because you want to believe what all the "cool" people believe. Lets say abortion.....plain and simple, on a molecular level, there are cells multiplying and dividing to form into a human being. You are causing those cells to stop doing that. I believe that would be equivalent to murder.
A lot of liberals will say: "I would never do it, but women should have a choice whether to do it or not". So....does that make it right or wrong to do? hmmm right for one person....wrong for another.
People that have religious convictions...think things through past the "sound bite" statement. That doesn't make them naive, it gives them reason to believe what they believe.

Everyone makes a decision about what they believe to be the truth concerning God. Assuming that you are agnostic or atheist, what makes you so sure that your decision is better than mine? How can atheists be so naive as to think that their anti-religion is right when there are so many other viewpoints about God? [i.e. this question can always be turned back on the asker].

I personally believe that Jesus' claims to be God were reasonable based on the evidence of his life, and vindicated on his return from the dead. His remarkable fulfilment of much earlier prophecy is also worth considering. The evidence is obviously not beyond dispute (but neither is any history, archaeology or literature), but it is nevertheless very strong evidence.

Furthermore, all other religions teach that mankind is able to placate god and win him over. They are very human-affirming and call on people to do things to save themselves. Christianity is completely unlike all other religions, and it is not the kind of thing that people would invent about themselves. Who would start a religion that tells people that they are helpless and rebellious and the God is angry with them? And yet this same God has to come and make right what we've messed up. It is a very God-centred religion.

That is part of why I believe that Christianity is unique, true and surpasses all other religions.

I believe every religion can make you grow spiritualy. It doesn't matter what religion it is as long as you are getting where you supose to be at that time and place. Look into the Kabbalah. It is not a religion. It's the fastest way of reaching your spiritual self and your purpose. Of course you can reach this with religion. It just takes longer because religions are based on the physical plane contrary of Kabbalah. So, you probably gonna have to reencarnate a couple of times before reaching your complete spiritual level. The same is with Kabbalah, it just takes you less reencarnations. Please be open minded and research on it. Don't think I'm trying to change your believes. I'm just giving you another option. When the time is right and is your time to venture yourself into it, then only then, it will be your time to be there.

What does naivity have to do with the price of tea in China?

People believe their religion is the right religion because of what it accomplishes in their lives, and what they are able to accomplish with it.

Would you deny Michaelangelo his religion which gave him the inspiration for the Cistine chapel? Would you deny Mother Theresa hers, which inspired her to do on the streets of Calcutta far more than you ever will should you live to be a thousand?

The number of religions that there have been in the world are irrelevant.

What is more relevant is the abundant proof that that simple fact represents - that as a great saint of my religion notes, "from one ancestor [God] made all nations to inhabit the whole earth, and he allotted the times of their existence and the boundaries of the places where they would live, so that they would search for God and perhaps grope for him and find him - though indeed he is not far from each one of us. For 'in him we live and move and have our being.'" (Acts 17:26-28)

It would be kind of stupid to join the wrong religion and think another religion is the correct one...wouldnt it? Do you ever consider your question before you ask it?

it is the matter of ego (they sometimes dont know that they are doing this because of ego). they want to dominate over other religions and have prominence. so they declare that their religion is the only right religion and that other religions are wrong. each religion in actual is right in its own way. for those who believe it, it seems right and for those who are against it, itseems wrong.

It fascinates me how anyone could pose a question of this nature.

Think about it.

Who would follow a religion that they felt was wrong in the first place?

They're not naive. Many of them are brainwashed. But that's not their fault. They're victims.

BTW, notice I've said MOST of them. Don't anyone nag me about this. I know there are exceptions.

Because if they didn't think that they'd believe in another religion or none at all
