Hookworm Infection - symptoms

Itching and a rash at the site of where skin touched soil or sand is usually the first sign of infection. These symptoms occur when the larvae penetrate the skin. While a light infection may cause no symptoms, heavy infection can cause anemia, abdominal pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and weight loss. Heavy, chronic infections can cause stunted growth and mental development.

Roundworm - symptoms
Most people have no symptoms that are noticeable, but infection may cause slower growth and slower weight gain. If you are heavily infected, you may have abdominal pain. Sometimes, while the immature worms migrate through the lungs, you may cough and have difficulty breathing. If you have a very heavy worm infection, your intestines may become blocked.

Pinworm - symptoms
Itching around the anus, disturbed sleep, and irritability are common symptoms. If the infection is heavy, symptoms may also include loss of appetite, restlessness, and difficulty sleeping. Symptoms are caused by the female pinworm laying her eggs. Most symptoms of pinworm infection are mild; many infected people have no symptoms.

Lice - symptoms
Tickling feeling of something moving in the hair.
Itching, caused by an allergic reaction to the bites.
Irritability.
Sores on the head caused by scratching. These sores can sometimes become infected.

If you have a huge appetite that never goes away, and yet you don't seem to be gaining weight, I think this is one of the signs of worms. Of course, a huge, insatiable appetite also comes with diabetes, so you have to distinguish between the two. A doctor can tell you for sure. If you have pets in the house sometimes they cause the worms, if you let them sleep on the bed, or share food with them (which I think is totally gross), then you can get worms. The process of getting rid of them, is also kinda gross. They come out of your stool (with the aid of medication)... alive.
