I'm flying in September from Edinburgh to Quito with KLM via Schiphol. I've only 50 minutes to make my connection in Amsterdam and am getting worried about making it. Is this long enough or should I be looking to change my flight times?

It is an all in one ticket, straight through, from Edinburgh so I won't need to check-in again in Schiphol. Cheers for the help so far.

IVe taken KLM from Newark, NJ to Accra, Ghana via Amsterdam and 50 minutes is plenty of time. In Amsterdam, they actually hold the plane and make announcements for you. If your flying KLM all the way and your flight is late, they will hold the plane for your flight to get in. I was waiting in Amsterdam on the plane for about an hour for a flight delayed from London. You should be fine. KLM is a great airline.

50 minutes shoul dbe ok, i think. Been traveling regularly to Schiphol, never as a connection though. The place is build like a star shape, so it would depend on where you arrive and where to depart from how far traveling it is. Is this trip of yours an organised one, or did you sort the first part yourself?? Cus if both flights are part of the one trip, then your luggage should be transferred directly, all you gotta do is walk to the other gate, plenty of time. If not, you'd need to go and pick it up before checking into the next flight.... and then 50 minutes is definately not enough!!

Change the flight from Schiphol 50 mins is only enough if you arrive on time! better to leave it a few hours just in case.... but sods law rules if you do change it, it will arrive on time... but by delaying it it will save all the stresses of trying to rearrange another flight Have a nice stressless holiday

Hi there. If this is a transfer I say you make it. they will take care of your luggage etc. And they will anounce in the plane where you have to go probably. Schiphol is big but you don't have to take a bus or anything to another side of the airport. But pay attention right away in which direction you have to go. I have been so many times on this airport and still get lost sometimes.
If you have booked two separate planes yourself. it might be a bit risky, especially if your first plane is delayed and if you have to wait for your luggage.
check the website of schiphol to get a bit familiar.

When making connecting flights at least 2 hours should be allowed between connecting flights because of security checks and check ins. Your 50mins may not be enough because if your flight to Amsterdam is delayed they will not hold your next flight up. I would change your flight times from Amsterdam Schipol.

Walking time from terminal/gate to terminal/gate is shown on most direction signs in Schiphol, most are shown at 10 to 15 mins, so you should have time. I have had lots of transfers there and its a well signed airport.

Schipol is very much amsterdam airport itself (and amsterdam airport is referred for Cargo in my understanding).
So you should not worry for 50 minutes transfer time.
Do not forget to check this with your agent or website or KLM airlines.

If you're worried talk to your airline or travel agent about it. I thought there was a minimum time limit for connections, especially international ones but I don't know what it is.
