A 0.05MF cap and a 56K resistor are connected in series. The RC network is then connected to the output of a DC power supply. How long will it take for the capacitor to become fully charged?

the first answer is close, but in general it is considered to be fully charged after 5 time constants, so the answer is 14 ms.

we look for rc time constant; t=rc
t=rc
=0.05*0.000001*56*1000
=2.8ms
the capacitor will be fully charged after 2.8milliseconds.
