Look on the web I don't remember where-check under government or immigration. It will tell you requirements.

I would do it quick before things bubble. She needs to work or go to school-so many hours or both. She needs to Stay out of trouble. She will need a Medical exam. She will need to take some test. Where is she living with Illegals? I don't know where will fit in.

It takes time-but she will probably get a pass. Full citizenship is not a fast process. But I think she needs to look up requirement soon for her own good.
Go from there.

"Illegal Aliens Becoming Citizens
The application procedure for permanent residency or citizenship for illegal immigrants is different than that of someone who has been allowed to enter the U.S. using the proper procedures for obtaining a visa. Information concerning the issue of what may or may not be done pertaining to the illegal status of a foreign national can be found on the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services website, http://www.uscis.gov

Here is more input:

They can't. That said, if the alien has a way of getting a green card now, like a resident relative, there may be ways to keep him here while the paperwork goes thru. If they don't have any means of getting a green card despite their being illegal, then they cannot become citizens or residents, period. Maybe through an amnesty.

It MAY be possible, though attempting poses considerable risk of being deported. The only possible way that I can see that an illegal alien could attain US citizenship would be to join the military. Bear in mind, any non-citizen joining the military is extremely limited as to what jobs they can qualify for (plan on marching). I know that at the completion of a 4-year active duty tour, a foreign national who has joined the US military is granted a green card, and has only to pass the citizenship exam in order to get their citizenship.

Actually right now I don't think it's possible for illegal aliens to join the military. There were a few cases of illegal immigrants joining the military with fake papers and being arrested by MP.

Dont say they can't, any illegal who gets a a green card after some time can become a citizen. And if you are legally married to an AMERICAN citizen after 3 years you can apply for citizenship.

By married to a US citizen, the fastest way. If you don't want marriage then a company or a business owner will sponsor you to work for him or them and get a green card, then a few years later apply for your US citizenship exam, if you pass, it will be granted to you.

Answer
United States citizenship can be acquired only 3 ways:
1. A person born within the United States and it’s territories; OR A person born outside of the United States, to parents are both United States citizens.

2. A lawful permanent resident (green card hold) applies for and is granted naturalization. This person is called a naturalized United Stats citizen.

3. A private bill is introduced by Congress and signed by the President, to make a person a United States citizen. This is called an act of Congress.:

It is called going to immigration office and filling out the forms and waiting her turn. There is no shortest amount of time, and there is no guarantee she will ever be a citizen. If she is illegal, she may even have to go home for awhile. Also, the time she spent here illegally will count against her. If you marry her for citizenship purposes, that is marriage fraud. You will be charged with a felony and she will be deported. Your marriage will be invalid. Tell her to get in line, she is no better than any other person trying to better her life.

Marrying her is the best way. There are other ways but it will take her longer to get her papers. For more information go to www.emichoice.com and someone will walk you through the steps. Finally she is not illegal unless she overstayed on her visa. You have to go by her arrival departure date. She can also go back to her country and get another visa, if she has overstayed. If she overstayed for more than 6 months she will have difficulties in getting another one. If her date on her I-94 is current then she is a non-immigrant but not illegal. She can keep from becoming illegal by filing a I-539, which will extend her stay. I hope I was helpful.

I agree with almost everyone here.... why would you help her break the law.... if she wants to stay here, she must return to her country and apply like everyone else... wait in line
check out www.uscis.gov

Chose a legal means for her:
have her go back (and you can go with here too), marry her, establish yourselves for a while, then file for a spouse visa.... but it may take a long time,
if she wants to continue her education, she can go back to her country, apply for school here and then apply for an F1 visa, but she must return to her country when she is done.... this is only a temporary stay here!

I think it is a terrible thing to help her stay illegally..... she must go back and do it the right way.... there is no legal way to stay here if you are illegal.... there is only illegal means to stay here illegally..... and anyone who advises any of these ways should not be living here!

unlawful immigration motives many issues that is for positive. that is an shown actuality. Given your estimate of 20 million illegals enable's proceed from there. enable's say even a million/3 of them are holding jobs. that is in simple terms about 7 million people interior the artwork force. Contributing to the tax base etc. that would leave 7 million interest vacancies. would our united states have the ability to cope with that many leaving the artwork force? probably not. would people step into those jobs for the pay provided? probably not. agencies final analysis is earnings. would they enhance wages to get people to artwork those jobs? probably not. extra agencies would start up to outsource. for this reason leaving many people out of jobs that now carry jobs. Our complete united states would give way and the full melancholy would appear like a cakewalk. As i have stated unlawful immigration is incorrect and desires to quit. yet we also favor to be sensible on deporting as you assert 20 million people. believe me...that is not likely to take position for countless motives. So we would want to bypass ahead and picture of sensible procedures to cope with the area accessible and also insure the unlawful situation is stemmed interior the destiny. extra acceptable border protection and visa platforms favor to be dealt with first and maximum widespread so the area doesn't steadily worsen. once the bypass is stopped we are able to then artwork on what to do with those already the following.

What you want to help her continue to break the law? I bet, you won't marry her I wouldn't if she breaks basic laws to get here can you really trust her to not break others. Tell her to go home and do it the right way. Or she can do like the others go to Pico and Union in L.A and buy phoney papers. what does she care if legit or not she isn't.
