Most bigger towns now have Metaphysical book stores (magic shops) the people are very nice and helpful. The internet is not a good place for real education(especially Wikapedia)!
Do the book store, you may fine fliers for up coming festival in your area and meet someone who would gladly take you along! It's best to have a guide. Pleasant Journeys child...and

Aww, don't be sad! There is tons of books out there, fact-based books that can help you. I'm looking at my own bookself right now at a whole slew of them!
Raymond Buckland has a book called "Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft". I found it at a Books-A-Million. Ravenwolf is ok, but Scott Cunningham had the best when it came to solitary stuff. Try Wicca-A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner and Living Wicca--A Further Guide for the Solitary Practitioner, both by Cunningham. Those helped me in so many ways when I first began walking the path. Yes, the internet is overflowing with sites that can help you, but I find nothing helps better than an old-fashioned book that you can hold in your hands. Just feels better to me.
Good luck and blessed be on your journey! If you have any questions on whatever, you can e-mail me.

There are lots of great books out there written by Wiccans for Wiccans. The most reliable authors are Scott Cunningham, Raymond Buckland, and Janet & Stuart Fararr. All of them are from different Wiccan traditions, but all are very knowledgable and widely recommended. My personal favourite is Wicca For Life by Raymond Buckland. Yahoo has some great discussion groups for Wicca as well, and you can find lots of resources on www.witchvox.com.

There is an MSN group called Ask A Witch, It is a longstanding pro resource unit. I use it all the time. I'm doing an MA in Medieval Pagan Philosophy and have been a witch or priestess (call it what you will) for 24 years or so. So I am reasonably informed.
Bright blessings and good luck with the search!

Hmm I too can not see how you should integrate Christianity and Wicca into one. both have very different beliefs. If someone calls themselves Wiccan, yet believes Christ to be their follower, then they couldn't believe in the existence of more beneficial than one god, for this reason making them not Wiccan. the importance of any faith is it really is significant concept...the only element that carry all different kinds of it really is branches together (i.e believing in Christ is the only element that bonds a Catholic and a Baptist and believing in god and goddess is the numerous element that bonds a Gardnerian and Alexandrian Wiccan). for sure there also are different factors that should be compared, which contain a concept in an afterlife, yet maximum religions carry a similar concept. So the position can a Christian bond with a Wiccan? How can someone remember on Jesus Christ as their savior, yet bypass adversarial to their faith and believe in the existence of more beneficial than one god? placing data aside there are human beings in a Christian branch said as Gnostic's, that are the extra open-minded/non secular version of Christianity. Spiritually we percentage some traits, yet universal our beliefs are nevertheless really different. and do not confuse Witchcraft with Wicca both...there are human beings accessible who declare to be one faith or haven't any faith and practice Witchcraft. that doesn't lead them to Wiccan. So prairie, like you i will not see how someone ought to correctly be both Wiccan and Christian. "i in my opinion do not see how that ought to take position without bending one or the different (or both) so a techniques off kind that the time period "Christian" and/or "Wiccan" may now not practice to the outcome." I agree thoroughly. i'm in contact although to study the comments of those who disagree with us. reliable question! advantages a well known human being! Love and mild, Blessed Be

If your new to the "craft" then how do you know what you are reading and have found already isn't the real truth? How do you know the information you are looking for isn't just made up? If you are new and don't know much about it, then you are not much of an expert, therefore who are you to judge?
