I think that if you could get more good quality soft drinks in bars like Dr. pepper, Purdeys and smoothies and stuff(not that syrup cola stuff) I would choose to drink less alcahol. The only alcahol I really like is wine & that tends to make me feel very drunk very fast!! Anyone agree?

Yes I think they should. They are discriminating against people that don't drink alcohol, but want to party and have a good time with their friends outside the home or a restaurant. If the bars want to make money, they can charge top dollar for those non-alcoholic drinks. They could make more profit off those, because they're not using any liquor.

Hey, why havent' they thought of that?!

Obviously you can go into a bar and ask for a "virgin" drink of any kind now.

No... Bars and Pubs are for drinking alcoholic beverages... If you want something non-alcoholic go to a cafe or a coffee house.

Wine will get you drunk fast because these days it's a minimum of 12%... Try drinking alcopops instead and drink slower... or, as someone else suggested, build up your tolerance by drinking more often... if you drank just a glass or two of wine every day after work you'd be able to handle it more on the weekend...

The only reason I would have to say no, is because many drinks can be made without the use of alcohol. Even blended daiquiris (while maybe not as good as smoothies) can be virgin daiquiris.
But I definitely agree that bars should cater a bit more to the designated driver, free drinks etc. :)

People that go to bars wouldn't go if they served soft drinks, at that time in the morning you always have 7-11. I've been told you shouldn't need alcohol to have a good time, which may be true, but most people need a couple of drinks to loosen up. Soft drinks just don't cut it.

In Britain we quite often have J2O (a juice drink in 5 different flavours) which is quite nice. Some bars do non-alcoholic cocktails to so try asking for one of those. I do feel that non-alcoholic drinks should be cheaper than they currently are though.

They need to provide for designated drivers, those who don't like alcohol (they do exist!) and those who don't drink for medical or personal reasons.

chances are your not gonna go to the bar and down six dr. peppers. the bar could care less about soft drinks unless they're being mixed with liquor. they want u hungry for liver-busting alcohol so they can make some friggin dough. if u drink beer your gonna drink a few to several. your not gonna drink a few to several cheaper dr. peppers unless you are forrest gump.

Bars and pubs are for drinking booze in to get hammered, not to sit about all sober with a can of fizzy poop. If you get drunk quick, drink slower, or build up your tolerance by getting wasted every night!

that is so unfair. the point of going to bars is not just to hang out but drink and be merry as well. it's the most widely fun thing to do at nihgt--and common, by the way. when i date men on webdate, we hang out at bars and then we're off to a surprisingly tasty experience in bed because of alcohol. we don't got really drunk, mind you. we just take in what we can handle.

I agree with you. I think bar could offer more choices and maybe non alcahol cocktails

No. If you don't want booze and you're off to a bar, don't expect them to have exotic non-alcoholic beverages. That's what Jamba Juice is for. There's enough non-alcoholic drinks at bars to keep you hydraded.
