Which first of all is absurd. The people of the US welcome immigrants. It is the illegals that we are angry about. But on that day without an immigrant, I did not experience anything bad. I only experienced the pleasure of no traffic on the freeway here in the Los Angeles area, AKA, ground zero for the reprocussions of illegal immigration.

A day without an ILLEGAL immigrant, that'd be good times...
why not a week, a month, a whole year? Most come from Mexico.
Mexico'll do anything it can to try and claw its' way into the United States, up to and including throw the race card. How much better life would be if mexicans would fix their OWN country, that way they'd have a better economy, they'd have better schools, they'd have all this stuff, and they'd have no reason to try and leverage their way into the United States.

The United States is already in debt. It's already inhabited.
'Growth' at this point is something that needs to be carefully considered, and apparently some of our officials etc. never quite made it all the way through civics class, or economics class, or ethics class...because they've done some really bone-head things over the last several years. They've had some 'help', in all honesty, external pressure from individuals, groups, and businesses, and I think some of them end up gaining office in direct correlation to their potential for being softies, for their corruptibility etc.

I'm all about livability. I'm all about seeing our country stay a happy, more-or-less open place where you can go about your business and not worry that there's some meth-head hoodlums from another country rolling into your neighborhood to perpetrate their evil on american citizens at their leisure. Who cares if you're a millionaire? If you've only got 10k to your name, but you came by it honestly, that's good enough for me...I think maybe if more people opened up a book from time to time, shut off the TV
and the talking heads with their Grand Schemes for this n that, the world would largely be a better, more civil place.

In the case of Mexico, reforms are needed. The only way those reforms will EVER take place is if the people OF Mexico sit down and make em happen. If they don't/won't, their country will continue to be 3rd class, no future, living off the United States.
I don't think that's good for americans, I don't think it's good for mexicans. Mexico COULD be rolling in money, they could literally have it all. Some mexicans ARE rolling in money, a choice few, while the rest get empty promises. Maybe if we all just got truckloads of elementary schoolbooks about american government and started chucking em over the fence into Mexico...or something...of course it sure wouldn't seem to hurt if maybe Congress would grab a couple out of that pile and do like, a refresher...any way you look at it though, those that want to forward their business interests in this case have overridden those that want to see the laws upheld. It's called 'greed'. Catering to it isn't benefiting either country...

"it's ilegals that we are angry about" ok.. can you tell me why?
they pay taxes, ok they don't have social security # but they are assigned a # to fill the forms. they do the work of many american people don't want to do. are you willing to wash cars for less than minimun wage? well they do . i know they are breaking the law but you need to consider they don't have a good life in their country( political, economic issues) they don't have option than come here to start from zero. do you think is really easy to learn a language? leave everything behind?
i understand you point of view but it doesn't mean I agree with you

ps.. and no .. i'm not mexican, illegal or something like that ... mexican are not the only illegals and immigrants here!

Yeah...they were soooo far of the mark on that one. Pathetically so. It is hard to believe that a group of people thought they could rally America to defend their cause by waving a flag of another nation. That is sure to go down in the political annuls as one of the biggest blunders ever. Let it be a lesson to all. Do not challenge Americans.

My wife and I went to Walmart because we thought that we wouldn't have to see them for one day but guess what? They were there as usual. It was the same way it always is here. I don't know where people get the idea that America can't get along without criminal trespassers. Why do we need more criminals? Aren't our jails and prisons filled with criminals already? Now they want to import more to roam our streets and cities and they say we need them...yeah, right. (like a hole in the head)

Can't say I noticed anything different. McDonald's was still open and so was Taco Bell. All our stores were. Never thought about it at all till now. And family in California didn't say anything to me about any effects.

I wish they would do it monthly and on a schedule. I saved a lot of time that day.
