You are already taking a great first step by talking about your feelings with others, my true belief is that only time heals wounds and if you meet some other special person during that time, then they may help you with the process of shifting your total thought from the girl whom you were previously attracted, although I personally believe that you should be careful into not jumping into a relationship just to get over your broken heart.
Give yourself some time, become your own best friend, and get in touch with whom you are on the inside, then you will know better whom is meant for you.
Also stay active, go swimming, or anything that will shift your attention to other projects, and other people.
Please hang in there Phil, and please remember that while pain is not fun at all, it serves purpose to our understanding of it, and only through experiencing pain, may we be capable of recognizing true joy, and happiness, and true happiness will not come from being with another, it must begin from with in yourself and then you will take your happiness into your next relationship.
I know you can do it, just smile and please don't let this get you down, we here on yahoo answers are rooting for you. :)

If she is your true or first love you will can't forget her..the memorize will always in yours but time although take very slowly but sure will heal your pains of heart. Try to open your heart for somebody new coming in. Put away the thought that she is the best and perfect woman you ever had....be confidence someday you will find someone who is better than before.
The most important key is you have to achieve that she is will not yours anymore that you have lost her forever and let her be only your past. Let the past be the past.
by the way it's been 9 years but i still can't forget my ex love. The memorize is still there but i don't feel the pains anymore
Good Luck.

Love takes time to heal the heart after it was broken... even though its been three years I would give yourself the time to heal... I think the reason that you are feeling this way is because you know deep down inside that she was the one that was meant for you... Just hang in there and if thats to hard then try to move on.

Well Phil, is she married yet? if not then what do you have to lose? you already have a broken heart. Speak up! Maybe she had been waiting that long, figured you didn't feel the same so she's trying to move on. signed born2damromantic

Find someone new. I know that breakups and heartache are INCREDIBLY hard to deal with. But it seems as though she has moved on. Its not fair for you to wait forever for something that isn't going to happen again. Get out there. Have fun with someone who will appreciate you.
