its weird. when i sit down, especialy at the movies, my leg (left leg only) becomes numb. its the upper part, so mostly my thigh. it starts tingling and itching and going sorta numb. it happens when i sit down for a while. but not all the time. anyone know why? its been happening for like 1 year now. and i just began to think that maybe it has to do with the fact that i have mitral valve prolapse. since its my left leg. i dono just a guess.
Do you have any ideas or suggestions? if you need more info ill add more right away.

Is it anterior or posterior? How is your back? What is your weight? Age? Oh yeah, and listen to angel, she knows what she's saying! Hmmmmm, interesting, 18, very young to be having these sorts of problems. OK, basically, not normal. See a chiropractor.

Could be several things...a pinched nerve, a disc pressing on your spinal cord...or, my ex's son had Degenerative Disc Disorder in his back, and his doctor said that that might cause numbness in one or both of his legs. You really should go see a dr...I'm having the same kind of trouble with my right shoulder, and I know it is messed up.I am trying to get in to see a specialist, no one else can tell me whats wrong. Keep me posted, I will keep you in my thoughts!

I am no expert by any means, but i have had back problems all my life. If your spine is out of allignment it could be causing your nerves in the leg to "go to sleep". Have you tried seeing a chiropractor? They really aren't quacks and can help all kinds of ailments like numbness and such. I see mine for migranes and stomach problems. Hope this helps

I have a similar problem but I am older and a little overweight. My doctor says it could be pressure on your nerve bundle running through your pelvis down to your leg. It is common for people with heavier bellies and pregnant women. For someone skinnny as you describe yourself, only a doctor would able to tell you.

Dont post questions in yahoo for some yahoo to answer of this nature. go see a "real" doctor.
You could simply be pinching a nerve or have serious curculation problems which could be symptomatic of more serious health issues like diabeties

Perhaps you have some nerve compression in the lower spine. See your doctor and get a referral to a neurologist, they can test nerve conduction and give the appropriate treatment :)

could be caused by lack of circleation on the blood. as well as nerve damage. at one point of you life. i would see a dr. there is a pill you can take to help the blood flow. or you can probly take 81mg;s of asprin i used becuase i am diebetic and it helps my blood flow better because i was getting all kind of numbness int he legs and arms. now i dont since i started taking it.
