If you're talking about nonalcoholic beer and wine, there is no point. If you're talking about iced tea, water or soda it would be because you're thirsty.

1. Non alcoholic drinks are great if you're at a party and the boss is there and drinking.... that way, he thinks that you're drinking too, but you won't get drunk and say something that may get you fired later.
2. Non Alcoholic drinks are great if you're pregnant and don't want anyone to know yet.. Alcohol is bad for the baby if you're prego
3. non alcoholic drinks are great- that way if you want to drink and don't want anyone to know- just tell them its virgin and they will think you aren't drinking alcohol.
4. non alcoholic drinks are great if you are the designated driver but would feel odd by not having fun and drinking what everyone else is drinking.
5. non alcoholic drinks are great if your ex is present and you think they will try to get custody of the kids if you get drunk. they won't know that you aren't drinking... or are drinking, if you say its Virgin...
I can think of lots of reason non alcoholic drinks are good.

Do you mean ALL non alcoholic drinks? like water? coffee? sodas? There is plenty of points for those. but non alcoholic beer or wine? yeah, the whole reason fro drinking something as foul tasting as beer or wine is to get drunk. If I want refreshment? I drink water or fruit juice.

The point of non-alcoholic drinks is so that people who drive can still enjoy a drink.

Non alcoholic BEER specifically I think.

Beer tastes like pi*s. The only reason to drink it is to get drunk so that it doesn't taste so bad. Making a non-alcoholic version is frankly missing the point.

some people like alcoholics like the taste of beer but can't drink the alchohol.

my boyfriend is four years sober and enjoys his non-beer beer.

Yeah I agree.

People do it to feel more socially in when they are driving or do not want to have alchohol impare their judgement.

Some say they do it for the taste...to each their own.

Big sales in Saudi Arabia - so they can pretend it's alcohol. Actually, it's probably just another taste choice - coke etc can get boring. I suppose in UK afetr the breathalyser was introduced these drinks appeared.

You're absolutely right. They're just full of sugar and all things not good for your health, so one might as well have a real drink. Cheers!
