It's something I learned many years ago in another language but since I've worked with and befriended so many people of different countries down through the years...I can't remember and now it's just bugging me to remember.

I am sorry that i couldn't find the answer for you. I did do a google search and found nothing. If you could specify a little bit more like if it is nore frome eastern asia or western europe or africa. It sounds like it may be one of the asian languages, and that is my best guess.

I found a karebe language (nigerian) with the word 'embibi' meaning 'boundary'. It seems like it can also be a boy's name. There is also 'embibo' meaning 'seed'.

In latin 'imbibi' means 'I drank'

Maybe you're mixing things up. In arabic, they say "habibi" which sounds more like "hebibi". If that's the word you're looking for, it means "my darling" or "my sweetie".
