~~i find this to be a sad question, as my daughter died as a baby, and i would have done anything to keep her. i wanted a baby more than anything.. i really wanted a daughter, but i never would have wished my son to die had my baby been a boy. i would have loved him just as much as i loved my daughter. your parents don't realize what a treasure they have if they were wishing that you had not lived. Talk to your parents and tell them how it made you feel finding this out... i hope it was just a misunderstanding. ~~

Every parent secretly wishes their child is born a certain gender, but to wish that child was dead because it was born the opposite gender of what the parents wanted is wrong. If you're talking about yourself, the first thing you need to do is make sure what you found out is true. If your parents told you this themselves then you have every right to be hurt and angry with them. You might want to see counceling or confide in a friend. A lot of people obsess over carrying on the family name and the only way that can happen is to have a boy, but the childs life should be much more important. This is a huge problem in China because they only allow one child per couple. I sympathize with your pain and I hope you can deal with this problem in a positive way.

This is a practise that is known in Asian and Indian families, and I find this a deplorable and despicable practise. There are clandestine ultrasound clinics that these people go to and when they find out that their baby is a girl, they have an abortion. Mind you, in Asia and India, they will often kill the baby when it is born anyway. I could throw up thinking about it, and would like to have parents like that sterilized so that they can never have the ability to have children, because in my opinion, people like that are unworthy of having children. Thank the Creator that you were born and have turned out to be such a beautiful and articulate young woman.

I would think that for some reason, they were obsessed about having a male child.
Obsessed means>>> crazy, insane, foolish, unwise, senseless, unreasonable, stubborn.
I would think they chose to make the right decision & that they love you, otherwise, you wouldn't be alive now.
I would ask them why they did not want a girl.

Maybe its because your parents are from country where its more prestigous to have a son rather than a daughter. i myself wanted a girl, but i wouldn't have wanted my sons to die so i could have a girl. you take what you get when you have a baby. i had 2 boys and then a girl and i love my children.

that sucks. I bet you are from a country who values men more than women. Forgive your parents for doing what they did to you.......they were part of a culture that doesn't respect women.

Love yourself. Don't repeat the family pattern. Value both men and woman.

hey we are human and we all have our insecurities. how did you find out about this? if they themselves have mentioned about it did they also say they were glad they changed their mind. you should know better. do you feel your parents love you now or are they still treating you like inferior. if you are just holding a grudge then you are doing good to nobody. more importantly to yourself. move on. you are still alive.

Ask them if they're glad they kept you. If they are glad, forgive them. If they aren't, forget them.
