Jehovah's Witnesses do not feel this way, for the most part. In order to become baptized as a Witness, one must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the bible's teachings. Once this understanding is acquired, the reasons for God's will help them to live by them.
For example, a four-year-old may feel that a rule forbidding him to write on the walls of the home is overly restrictive. An older child realizes the reasons for the rule, and so he simply does not feel the slightest inclination to write on the walls, for the most part.

I'm a studying to be a Witness and it would be inappropriate to get baptized and have something wrong with what I'm learning. That doesn't make since. To even consider becoming a Witness you have to realize what the Bible teaches, live your life by it, and let go of all teachings/practices that don't go along with the Bible. In doing this yes we don't celebrate birthdays and holidays as earlier answerer's mentioned, but because those things aren't in harmony with the Bible we don't even want to participate in such things because it would be displeasing to God.

In order to become one of Jehovahs Witnesses, one must study God's Word. And come to an accurate knowledge of what Jehovah requires of those who worship Him.There is no pressure. It is solely ones own decision, based on love of God and a desire to please and obey Him.
So the answer to your question would be no.Becoming one of Jehovahs Witnesses is deemed to be the ultimate priveledge and is not taken lightly. The rewards in serving our wonderful God,Jehovah far outway any so called 'restrictions'.
There are always going to be those who succumb to Satans snares and fall away from the truth. Some repent and are welcomed back.Others choose not to and stay away. The decision is theirs. In the end each one of us will render an account to God for our actions.

If you are a J. W. and are having problems with "their" belief system, why would you want to be a J. W. to begin with? Perhaps being a J. W. isn't really & truly where you want to be? Why do people choose to believe in something they cannot see nor prove, rather than themselves? Have you tried Buddism? How about just believe in yourself & your strengths, & use your "Goodness" & Nature as your guide? Best of Luck & Peace to you.

It's so funny how JW's aren't allowed to celebrate birthdays or Christmas, but they always have new stuff around those dates.

I'm not JW but I don't understand the reason why you can't celebrate anything. I'm not against JW, it's just...I don't really get it. I'll have to do my research!
